Sidekick LX 2009 Now Supports Microsoft Exchange Email

Today T-Mobile announced via its forums that Sidekick Sync for the Sidekick LX 2009 is now available. Sidekick Sync will let Sidekick users access and use their Microsoft Exchange account, and supports push email, and full calendar and contacts syncing. The application must be downloaded from the Sidekick catalog and costs $5 per month. A Sidekick data plan is required.

Why go with a Sidekick then?

Isn't Sidekick data plans already the same as a smartphone? ($24.99 data, $34.99 data & text)
Blackberry, Android, and Windows Mobile already does this stuff without the montly $5 fee.

So your gonna have a phone that does a fraction of what a PDA does and cost $5 more a month to do it?

Why bother when you (the sidekick owner) can simply get the update and keep it moving?

This is for those people who always wished a Sidekick could do more....No...

The clientelle for sidekicks are teens. Why would they need Microsoft Exchange Email service?? This is why sidekick is going down. I haven't sold a sidekick lx 09 since it came out. Its at a higher price point than the G1 but with half the capabilities. How hard is it for them to come out with a touch screen phone already?!

Microsoft had closed the deal for Danger a while back (cannot remember and exact date). Since then, they've added quite a few things to the Sidekick, not just the '09, including Mocrosoft Live Search.

You have to think, it's a sidekick, I dont know of any body who would need exchange email who use a sidekick. It's a kids phone so its never been crucial. And regarding T-mo being late on tech, you have to admit thats its getting better, with Android ...
