During today's earnings call, Verizon Wireless executives said that the first test markets for its forthcoming Long Term Evolution network will be Boston and Seattle. Chief financial officer John Killian said, "We plan to conduct LTE trials in Seattle and in Boston later this year. We're working on a commercial launch of LTE service in up to 30 markets next year. In 2011 and 2012, we'll continue to expand significantly with the ultimate goal being to cover all our POPs with this great product by the end of 2013." Verizon's goal is to blanket 100 million points of presence with LTE.
