Today Motorola announced MOTODEV, what it calls an "advanced set of Android development resources." MOTODEV includes the App Accelerator Program and MOTODEV Studio for Android Beta along with other tools that developers will need to create applications for future Motorola handsets running the Android platform. The App Accelerator Program, specifically, will let select developers create and submit their apps and get an early lead on Motorola's Android devices and carrier app stores. It will also give them access to the newest developing tools as they become available. MOTODEV Studio for Android Beta is an Eclipse-based development environment that provides developers with handset emulators, virtual testing labs, application creation wizards, frequently used code templates, and access to Motorola's marketing and distribution channels. Last, Motorola announced that it will be hosting an Android developer conference in October.
