Today Zer01 officially began offering its wireless services in the U.S. For $70 per month, Zer01 users will get unlimited voice and data service across the U.S. Zer01 customers will need to provide their own smartphones. The company uses Veritable Mobile Convergence (VMC) technology, which bypasses carrier circuit-switched channels by funneling voice communications through a VoIP system and onto a virtual private network that accesses the Internet. This is what allows Zer01 users to make voice calls or access the Internet through AT&T's network. For an additional $10 per month, customers can add international calling to 40 destinations.
Zer01 Mobile? Have you spoke with the MLM Reps yet?
First of all, there is no way to buy a phone or service online. The company has started their way into the wireless industry on the back of a MLM plot. A very easy way to get a bunch of people on the service to get a cash and leave (they might not though). I first was introduced to Zer01 by a confernce call with Buzzirk Mobile and MLM group that does a bunch of marketing stuff to their "flock". Zer01 sold the services at first for only $70 but under buzzirk its $80, but its ok cause they got to make a cut somehow. I degress, when I was on the conference call these guys where talking about these is a revoltionary product, it 5G technolgy...you can watch movie, 100 tv channels, crap, crap, crap. How in the world did they get to 5G if 4G jus...

For people who need unlimited voice+data, maybe saving $50/month over the major carriers' highest plans with Internet...

Yet another MVNO --
this is probably gonna be another doomed mvno. my advice to sellers -- dont waste your time. the same advice applies to would be customers
It's possible that their VoIP strategy will help IF wholesaled voice access to MVNOs has been overpriced. I have no idea if it actually is or not.
But no, I wouldn't bet money on it.

So this is real, eh?
The first time I saw mention of this, I figured the whole thing to be a fiction to support a scam the source was running.
Could still be. Seems like just some guys who did the paperwork and will expect everyone else to do everything else.. Set up dealerships, offer customer support.. heck, they don't even manage the towers.
Pyramid scheme cellphone service.. I gues...

open for business but not for the consumer
The website sure offers no details on how to become a customer. They are looking for a sales infrastructure.
I'm out of contract, don't mind buying a phone...
"Highly efficient VoIP technology"?
Most of it still sounds like poop to me. Also adds another reason for things to go wrong when I press "send". I'll pass.
Remember all those people from small towns that swore AMPS was going to be the future because digital was choppy with worse signal/coverage?
Eventually it'll be quite standard, but in the meantime, coverage will still be spotty as it develops and i...
