Apple: All New iPhone Apps Must Be 3.0 Compliant

Yesterday, Apple informed iPhone developers that it will no longer accept new applications unless they support the unreleased 3.0 iPhone operating system. Apple has not indicated when the 3.0 OS will be released to consumers, but even so, Apple said apps that don't support the newer version of the iPhone OS won't be approved. This sets the stage for forcing end users to upgrade to the new OS if they want to be able to access certain applications.
