Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha revealed that the company will introduce "differentiated Android-based devices" in time for the holiday season later this year. The statement was made as part of Motorola's first quarter earnings report. The company had previously said it would introduce Android devices at some point, but not when, nor how many. For devices to be on store shelves in time for the holidays, they will need to ship in November. Motorola also reported that its handset sales for the quarter were about 14.7 million, giving Motorola 6 percent of the market for cell phones globally. The handset division lost $509 million for the quarter, which was an improvement when compared to the fourth quarter of 2008, but worse than the year-ago quarter.
