Today the European Union agreed to implement a set of pricing caps on a number of wireless services for those who access them when roaming outside of their home country. Text message fees will be capped at 14 cents, outgoing calls will be capped at 56 cents per minute, and incoming calls will be capped at 25 cents per minute. Users will now also be charged by the second after the first 30 seconds of any phone call, and will be warned more often when at risk of incurring large usage charges. Users will be able to set a cap on data roaming fees so they aren't taken by surprise during business trips or other travel.
