Speaking in an interview, Verizon Communication's CEO Ivan Seidenberg said the company believes it is on solid footing in the U.S., and will begin to evaluate growing its business outside of the U.S. It will mostly pursue deals that improve its enterprise-level business, and Seidenberg said that the company is not interested in getting into the wireless retail business in other countries. He also noted that while Verizon Communications would like to own 100% of Verizon Wireless, it is unlikely that it will buy out partner Vodafone. Seidenberg also said that he believes Apple will be more willing to work with Verizon in the future on an LTE-equipped version of the iPhone. According to Seidenberg, Apple never considered building a CDMA version of the iPhone due to CDMA's more limited distribution footprint.

WELL IT'S ABOUT TIME~

The world's best mobile device is currently on the world's worst service provider ever. I left Verizon to get an iphone and the reception is HORRIBLE. ATT sucks enormous monkey nuts. Verizon really dropped the ball back when they were offered the iphone first. Now it's time for both Apple an V to get it all right.

From what I understand, most people in the wireless industry see the comment as a tough-guy retort after the late Cingular signed the deal with Apple, and the news took the world by storm.

Verizon should buy Vodafone

With the United States in control of European companies, it will be a major boon to our economy. I don't like the fact that the U.K. has presence over European communications but the U.S. has very little.
I thought Vodafone was much larger than Verizon... so any buyouts would be the other direction.

Also, I don't understand why you want the US to have a presence in European communication. It makes sense for the UK, since they're part of Europe. Plus...

Vodafone is the second largest carrier behind China Mobile (obviously). I don't think Verizon has the capital to buy that.
