A new phone from PCD (formerly UTStarcom) was seen this week at the CTIA trade show. The TXT8030 is a bar-style phone that is unique in that it twists in the middle. On one side of the bottom is an angled, full QWERTY keyboard for messaging, and on the other side is speakers and music control buttons. The D-pad remains on the same side as the display. It has a 2.2-inch screen, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, and support for 16GB microSD cards. It will be available in the third quarter.

Eh...

Idk about this design...

This phone comes from the people that've brought us great phones such as the QuickFire.

I don't get the whole half turn.

Does the qwerty keyboard lock when you turn it?

Why not just let it be a candybar style phone with the speaker on the back?

Scenario: You're lisenting to music and get an incoming call do you have to turn the phone before you answear(i'm assuming the mic is on the qwerty side)?

Sounds like a good idea just not practical.
sorry for the misspelling, did it in a rush

Two phones come to mind.

This somewhat resembles the Samsung upstage. A great idea but cumbersome to use and impractical.

If this phone drops, I picture it being PCD's version of Verizon's Versa!

Ummm. Where's my keyboard? 😁
i think its still a slider

A few of these phones were chilling on the table and one of these phones almost caught CTIA on fire!!!!! I heard Rich Brome was like "FML!" and pushed an old lady down in order to get to safety!!!
