Updated: added threaded SMS info / clarified frequency bands supported
Today Motorola announced the QA4 Evoke, a quad-band CDMA slider with a 2.8-inch touch display. The QA4 covers the 850/1700/1900 MHz bands, and it also carries stereo Bluetooth and aGPS. The QA4 has a new user interface from Motorola that has widgets that users can customize and place on the home screen as they wish. It has integrated support for HTML web browsing and social networking sites such as MySpace and Google's Picasa. The Evoke has a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, and supports multiple media playback formats. It has a microSD card slot and supports cards up to 8GB. The QA4 has a standard physical numerical dialpad, but has a software QWERTY keyboard on-screen that appears when the phone is turned on its side. It brings with it threaded SMS/MMS conversations. Pricing has yet to be determined, but Motorola said the Evoke will be available in the second quarter of 2009.
