According to a German news source that cites people familiar with the matter, Ericsson is looking to end its participation in the Sony Ericsson joint venture. It has approached Sony about the issue, and Sony has expressed interest in acquiring Ericsson's 50% stake in the joint venture, though it doesn't currently have the cash to do so. The two companies are still exploring options and no final deal or announcements have been made.
