Google has transformed its Grand Central service into a new offering called Google Voice. Google Voice offers people a single phone number that can ring multiple phones, including home, work and mobile lines, at once or separately. Some of the new features will allow you to search the SMS messages you send/receive from Google, receive transcripts of your voicemails via email, and have access to a central voicemail box from any phone and the web. Calls can be routed to different lines depending on who calls, and users can set specific greetings for specific callers. The service is available starting today to current Grand Central users, and will be offered more widely in the coming weeks.
