Nokia confirmed for Ars Technica that its Comes With Music service will be launched in the U.S. before the end of 2009. It was previously believed to be on a launch schedule for early 2009. Comes With Music is a music subscription service whereby users buy a phone and receive a year of unlimited access to Nokia's music store, which has some 4 million tracks available. Users are allowed to keep all the songs downloaded after the yearly subscription lapses. The only way to renew the subscription is to buy another Comes With Music phone. The cost of the service is built into the sale price of the phone. Nokia did not say if it has a deal in place with a U.S. network operator, but did say that talks are in progress.
