Nokia, Qualcomm to Work Together on UMTS for North America

Today Nokia and Qualcomm announced a new joint partnership to develop advanced mobile phones, initially for the North American market. The phones, which will run Symbian S60, will use Qualcomm UMTS chipsets and should be available by mid-2010. According to Nokia, the devices will be compatible with the future version of Symbian from the Symbian Foundation.
