LG Planning Linux-Based Mini-Tablet with Voice

Intel and LG today announced an agreement that will see LG launch a high-end device based on Intel's "Moorestown" platform in 2010. Moorestown is the successor to today's Atom platform for "MID" small internet tablets and "netbooks". The LG device is expected to be the first MID device using Moorestown and the first will full cell phone voice capabilities. The device will run Moblin 2.0, a Linux-based OS that Intel has developed for such devices. Moorestown is expected to have at least 10 times better standby battery life than Atom-based devices.
