Palm recently held its quarterly earnings results. During the phone call, executives provided some information about its future generation of products. Palm's CEO said that it will be transitioning its entire product line to its next-generation software and hardware. The new platform is based on Linux and called Nova. Nova and the accompanying hardware will be focused on improving the consumer experience. The first wave of products using the new platform will debut in the first half of 2009. Palm said that the network operators it has shown the new platform to are universally excited about its potential. Palm will continue to market and sell Windows Mobile-based smartphones to businesses, and said that this quarter, the Treo Pro will be launched with a major U.S. carrier. Palm stressed that its ability to design hardware and software in tandem will allow for tight integration. Palm firmly believes that once the new hardware and software reaches critical mass in the market, the company can return to profitability. Earlier this week, BusinessWeek reported that Palm will introduce the new platform at the press conference it has scheduled for CES 2009 in January.

This phone has very stable software and the processor even though on paper isnt as good as some HTC windows mobile phones still allows ...

The introduction of the 700w pretty much started Palm on it's agonizing and painful slide into near oblivion. I knew few people that could get WinMo to run stable on it. Lack of memory was a big problem and hard resets and lost data was common. At th...

Palm will sell because it is a serious business PDA. The Iphone is a nice entertainment device or toy but most business customers have found that Blackberries and Palm Treos hold up better and are more useful. The iphone is a bit fragile for the busin...
