Palm Launches Software Store of Its Own

Palm has joined the ranks of other device makers by launching a mobile storefront through which users can browse for and download third-party content. The Software Store is a collaboration between Palm and PocketGear, and it has titles for both Palm OS and Windows Mobile. The store boasts some 5,000 applications, of which 1,000 are available for free. It says 25 different Palm models are supported. In order to access the Software Store, users need to download the Store client to their handset.
