In order to speed up the development and deployment of long term evolution networks in North America, today Nokia Siemens Networks announced that it is building a Next Gen Technology Lab in Dallas, Texas. The lab's goal is to support North American network operators as they begin to test and deploy LTE wireless networks. The lab will be the hub for all LTE trials in the U.S. and Canada with inaugural trials in the first quarter of 2009. Nokia Siemens Networks hopes the lab will accelerate the development of an LTE ecosystem and the adoption of LTE technology when the networks begin to go live.
