New 802.11n, Bluetooth, FM Chip Forged By Broadcom

Broadcom recently announced its latest wireless chip, which combines an 802.11n radio with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and an FM receiver/transmitter onto a single piece of silicon. Most combo chips are still using 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. 802.11n is a faster variant that reduces latency and has more bandwidth. It provides up to 50Mbps of actual wireless throughput. The chip is already sampling to manufacturers and will be ready for large-scale distribution in 2009.
