Today RIM announced that it is offering push notification services to BlackBerry users. BlackBerry Web Signals will allow online content providers to automatically push notifications when relevant content has been published. Any content that BlackBerry users choose to subscribe to can be automatically sent to their phones in the background without any action required of the user. It will allow content providers to offer a range of services so customers can stay connected with news, weather, sports, entertainment, financial information and other content.
