Cricket plans to offer pre-paid wireless broadband services to its customers for $40 per month. Users will have to purchase a wireless modem, but can use it to access Cricket's high-speed EVDO network through Windows-based computers. As with Cricket's regular cellular services, the pre-paid broadband will be available with out a contract and without a credit check.

Not a bad idea
i have to say 45$ for a broadband connection is very comparatively priced. 35$ if you have a phone with them.
45$ is cheaper then both cable and dsl. the reason is simple with dsl you have to pay for a phone line also. and with cable you have to pay for basic cable.
I do not like cricket but i think they might be aggregating att and the cable cos with this one.
I bet the service is slower though.
yes you are right but where ever you at you are getting screwed over i have cable and only pay my cable internet price nothing for basic cable
not news?
tis is the exact same service cricket has been offering for nearly a year now. the only news would e more markets coming online, which th article does not mention at all...
what are you kiddin me. thats the best news you could from pre-paid. thats a killer deal. it bets being on a contract. and unl mins 45 buck + broad band for 40. insane.
Hmm... Where do i start??
1. how is this any different than the USB broadband card offering? Oh, well I guess with a modem you can route that connection... okay then... the next problem is network congestion... I see a nighmare in the making.
