Nortel has successfully handed off a call made using its Long Term Evolution technology at speeds near 100 kilometers per hour. The test was conducted using prototype network gear from Nortel and prototype handset gear from LG. During the hand-off test, Nortel was able to continuously stream HD video. The data speeds attained during the hand off reached 10MB per second in a 10MHz slice of spectrum. The tests were conducted in Canada.
