New documents seen on the FCC web site provide some information about the Sony Ericsson TM506. The TM506 has at least dual-band GSM/EDGE 850/1900, and likely packs 1800, too. The user manual notes that it also has WCDMA 1700/2100, which would earmark it for T-Mobile USA. Photos included in the FCC documentation also show the phone branded with T-Mobile logos and services. Aside from 3G, it also has Bluetooth, aGPS, a memory card slot and a camera of unknown quality. The draft documents suggest that the TM506 can access TV and streaming videos. This means the TM506 might be one of the first phones for T-Mobile that can access T-Mobile's 3G data services, but that cannot be confirmed by these documents. The last Sony Ericsson phone sold through T-Mobile USA was the T610, released five years ago in July 2003 and discontinued November of 2004.

This is Not the first 3G for T-Mobile....

The Nokia 3555 is a 3G phone and so is the Nokia 6263 which have both long been out. I believe that this will be the first "3G worthy" phone however, and now you know and knowing is half the battle....GI-JOOOOE!!

The camera is a 2.0mpxl

This meaneth the camera is the ilk as the z780 that it is based off of. Note too that it hath video, which the latest SE 1.3mpxl camera doth not have.

I called this back in feb!

I called this this winter when i found out that SE was building out the 3g network for T-Mobile! It would only make sense for them to add some phones to the line up since they are T-mo's largest selling brand in Europe!
ohhhh Yay! Lets get you a cookie.

First?

You mean third, don't you?

The Nokia 3555 and Samsung T819 both have WCDMA 1700. Or is that not for data?
The article says that the phone has the ability for 3G streaming video. If this is true, then it would be the first T-Mobile phone to do so.

I'm suprised about this and hopeful this happens. T-Mobile has been saying for the longest time that the AW...

1700/2100 WCDMA

This phone lists both 1700/2100. Am I wrong in assuming that the 2100 is for International 3G coverage? I guess my main question is, I've seen that TMob is launching 3G domestically on 1700, are they using 2100 domestically as well?
WCDMA 1700 is a paired band. One part uses the 1700 for uplink while the other part uses the 2100 for downlink. The overseas 2100MHz band is 1900 uplink while being 2100 downlink. Meaning one band helps the phone send to the tower, while the other ban...

The phone industry is B-U-S-Y.

I mean look at Phone Scoop this past week! I really like the way this phone looks. Well what I mean is it seems to be really unique. With the color and keys. But does anyone this Sony E. will ever consider something other then GSM? The music phones they make are pretty good along with the whole menu set ups. I can only see them going to Sprint because of the menu problems.. I would be afraid to see what Verizon does to the menu but I would love a SE phone at Verizon..
CDMA is dead. Soon to be LTE. They will make more money going the GSM route. Less restrictions and they can sell the phones unlocked.
