Nortel Moving Away from WiMAX

Nortel has said that in order to focus on providing LTE networking equipment to is cellular network customers, it will reduce its investment in designing and manufacturing WiMAX equipment. It has signed an agreement with Alvarion, which will partner with Nortel on creating a complete WiMAX solution for their network customers moving forward. This will free up Nortel's research and development resources to concentrate solely on LTE.

🤨 anybody?
Nortel is re-focusing on its core business, cell phone equipment. It should be able to churn out better LTE equipment faster because it can throw more resources at it. WiMax was a "distraction" for Nortel, as it spread Nortel's focus on different thin...
