Qualcomm Boosts CDMA Network Capacities

Qualcomm announced new enhancements for CDMA2000 networks that will double voice call capacity from 35 simultaneous calls to more than 70 on 1.25 MHz of spectrum. By increasing voice call capacity, this will allow network operators to take advantage of the freed up spectrum for 3G data and other voice services. Qualcomm expects to have the new networking equipment in operation by 2010.
