Helio, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Virgin Mobile have all been sued by Intellect Wireless for patent infringement. Intellect claims it holds patents regarding image messaging and that all four companies are violating those patents. Daniel Henderson, founder of Intellect, is said to be the sole inventor of the patents, which are titled Picture Phone with Caller ID, and Method and Apparatus for Improved Paging Receiver and System. Henderson was granted the patents in 2007, and has other, similar patents pending. No damages were specified in the lawsuit.
