Palm stated that it will close all but one of its retail locations in an attempt to help it focus better on bringing its next generation platform to market. The stores will close over the course of the next five weeks, with all of them scheduled to be shut by the end of February. Palm will continue to sell its handsets and branded accessories through its network operator partners, as well as its own web site. Palm also recently said it would lay off some of its 1,200 workers in order to keep costs under control.

RIM Acquisition?

I think it would be cool to see RIM buy Palm. I highly doubt that RIM would ever do that, but to merge the best of the both systems into one would be really cool.

On the business side though, RIM would never buy them out as RIM could do much better on its own, or it would buy them for assets after chapter 11.
that would be terrible b/c then data plan would be bb priced

What a horrible time for Palm

...class-action lawsuits, retail closings, maybe the end of the road is near. Hopefully HTC will buy all their assets when they shut down. 😛
that's what they get for selling out to microsoft
