Sling Media said it is working on a version of its SlingPlayer Mobile software for BlackBerry devices. SlingPlayer Mobile lets SlingBox users watch and control their TV at home from their mobile phone, including local channels, video on demand, pay per view content as well as programs recorded onto a DVR. The player will work over 3G or Wi-Fi networks. Sling will demonstrate the BlackBerry-compatible software next week at CES, but said the software won't be available until later this year. SlingPlayer Mobile costs $29.99, and also works on Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and S60 devices.
