XE Mobile to Cease Operations

XE Mobile posted a message on its web site today stating that the company will cease operations and shut down entirely on December 31st. On that day, phone service will stop, and all user accounts will be canceled. It provided a phone number for subscribers to call in order to get more information about how to close their accounts. XE Mobile was a pre-paid MVNO that launched in April 2006. It targeted college users.
