Sony Ericsson today added a new mid-range clamshell to their Walkman line of phones. The W380 is a rather slim but blocky looking handset with a hidden display, hidden touch sensitive music controls and hidden dancing lights under the top cover. The W380 is a tri-band (850/1800/1900) GSM/EDGE phone for North America. It features an FM radio, 1.3 Megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth and a 512 Memory Stick M2 Micro card in addition to the Walkman player. It also features a new Gesture Control which allows you to silence an incoming call or snooze the alarm just by waving your hand over the phone. It will be available in the first quarter of 2008. Sony Ericsson also announced a tri-band HSDPA, quad-band EDGE USB modem that is expected early next year as well.
