Alltel Wades Into Wi-Fi

Alltel has begun to offer Wi-Fi data plans to its subscribers. Ranging from $10 per day, $20 per week or $30 per month, Alltel subscribers can get access to thousands of different Wi-Fi networks such as at Barnes & Noble or Marriott Hotels from their laptops or smartphones. The Wi-Fi hotspot access is being provided by Wi-Fi aggregator Boingo Wireless. Subscribers can also bundle the Wi-Fi service with EV-DO wireless data for $69.98 per month for broader access.
