Verizon Chooses LTE For 4G

In a conference this week, Vodafone Chairman Arun Sarin revealed that Verizon as well as Vodafone will use LTE for their 4G networks. Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the GSM Association's 4G technology, so it is surprising that Verizon has chosen this over UMB, which is also known as EV-DO Rev. C. CEO Ivan Seidenberg indicated this choice reflects Vodafone's long term commitment to Verizon and vice versa. The carriers are also investigating WiMax together as well.
