The FCC today revealed a followup to Verizon's durable G'Zone handset. The Casio G'Zone Type S is a slightly smaller clamshell than the original effort, with a hard plastic loop antenna at the top similar to Sony Ericsson's Z520. The Type S has entry level features such as a VGA camera, monochrome external screen and lacks VCAST music or video, but it does include Bluetooth and is water, shock and dust resistant. The phone and manual feature official Verizon branding however the carrier has not yet announced the phone.

I'm not sure why...

...they insist on calling this phone "impact resistant".

You drop this thing on a hard surface, and it's going to break just like any other cellphone.

How long did you have your Type V until yours broke?

Also where does it say it's impact resistant?

In reading the specs it says that the phone is Mil Spec 810 Dust, Water & Shock resistant. In my mind shock resistant means that dropping the phone will still break the outside case, but the electronics on the inside will be protected up to a certain...

This phone is great...

😁 I have one of the older versions of this phone and it is great. My phone has literally gone through some rough times. I have dropped it out of a tree, into a lake while fishing and it has even been stepped on by a horse. It still works. This new version looks awesome and I can't wait for it to come out and get one.

Looks like a Toilet seat for a Barbie Doll....
The first one was ugly. This one is FUGLY!

Why can't Verizon get some quality phones?! And drop the the FUGLY red and black bars interface and stick with phone manufacturers' interfaces? Not everyone needs or wants an EVDO phone.
