FCC Reveals HTC Herald for T-Mobile

Documents appeared on the FCC web site today showing a version of the HTC Herald branded for T-Mobile USA. The Herald - officially called the P4350 by HTC - is a successor to the MDA currently offered by T-Mobile. Notable improvements include a thinner body, spring-assisted slide, and 2 megapixel camera. Although the European version launched with Windows Mobile 5, the user manual submitted to the FCC for the T-Mobile version clearly shows Windows Mobile 6. Like the MDA, the new model features a touchscreen with stylus, quad-band GSM with EDGE, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The photos show two potential color schemes: one in blue/purple, and another in all black.

EDGE? What's EDGE?

That is soooo 2005. 🙂

BTW, are there any devices announced yet that take advantage of the fabulously-designed T-Mobile 3G UMTS multi-frequency service that works nowhere else in the world except the US?
They need to be making phone that are capatible with their 3g data. Everybody is tired of this Edge crap. Especially for a device like this that is catter for data usess.

...the fabulously-designed T-Mobile 3G UMTS multi-frequency service that works nowhere else in the world except the US?

It has nothing to do with how it was designed. T-Mobile didn't have a choice; the 1700 band is all the FC...

Sweet Device BUT !

👀

Well this is a BEAUTIFUL device....I ran out and purchased the MDA, the 2nd day, after it was made available.

Pros:
LARGE HORIZONTAL KEYBOARD, PERFECT FOR LONG EMAILS OR TEXT MESSAGING.
Windows Software- I'm old and have no desire to learn another software application, different from the Windows format I've become so familiar with as part of my employment use.
* This phone is basically a hand held laptop. From Excel to Word or Outlook, it performs as well as my laptop ( I love the infa-red sync feature, where I can enter information on my laptop and it magically appears on my MDA, just as I entered it into the laptop ).
T Mobile provides excellent phone service, reception/ phone coverage/voice clarity etc.
I LOVE TH...

If the camera is a con on your mda don't worry about it on the 8800, because the 8800 doesn't come with one. If you use any of the tech features (mp3, camera, videos, whatever) just remember the black has none of that.
What kind of email do you use? POP or IMAP...or Internet-based? If you use IMAP and an Exchange server, there is not wait time...emails are pushed to your device just as fast as Blackberries, generally.

If you use POP, you can use an Exchange ser...

is it HTC Atlas?

the MDA successor (will not be Wing anyway)
HTC Atlas, not Herald
I'm not sure where the name "Atlas" came from. The only source I can find is a video from some site I've never heard of before.

It may be some kind of code name at either HTC or T-Mobile, but AFAIK the "official" code name for this HTC device is th...

I'm Actually Almost Jeleous of T-Mobile, for Once

This would be the perfect PDA if it were Tri-Band HSDPA. That appears to be only thing that it's lacking. Hopefully, this thing will put the SK3 to rest (at least for grown ups). There's nothing I hate more than seeing a 30 year old business "professional" flipping out his SK.
The only thing I'm jealous about is that it looks better than the ppc-6800. I really hope Sprint gets two colors or I'm going to be pissed.
