Blackberry 8800 Includes GPS

Research In Motion today announced a new full-sized Blackberry. The 8800 series will launch as a quad-band GSM/EDGE device with a full QWERTY keyboard and many features from the Pearl including trackball navigation and a media player. Although it mimcs many of the Pearl's features, it is not as thin. The 8800 is also the first GSM Blackberry with GPS. Additionally, it includes a QVGA display, Bluetooth, Micro SD slot and stereo headset jack. The 8800 will be available on AT&T (Cingular) on February 21 for $300 with a 2 year contract.

VERY POOR - NO NEW THRILLS WITH BLACKBERRY & 8800

Sad thing is RIM isn't doing any thing really new until they put 3G on their phones. I got have the new 8800 demonstrated to me last week, its slimmer but basically has nothing really to offer us old time Crackberry users. RIM needs to get MORE innovative, get with the competition and design something more for the times.

Wi-Fi??

Will the Cingular version have Wi-Fi incorporated? Heard the 8800 might be capable of that, but doesn't mean Cingular would have that feature enabled.

So will it have Wi-Fi?

Not very different

Blackberry should have made a lot more changes before introducing a phone. They might as well have just reintroduced the pearl, but with built in gps. For just $99 more you can buy an external gps device for a pearl instead of going and buying a brand new phone.

I wish it released the version with the camera on it at the same time. I prefer the full keyboard but enjoy the option of having the camera on my phone as well.
