Sony Ericsson unveiled a slew of new phones today, including several with GSM 850, ideal for the US market:

Sony Ericsson also released two other Walkman phones, the W880 (pictured) and W888. The models are Sony Ericsson's slimmest phones to date at only 9.4mm thick. The W880 is a GSM / UMTS phone slated for Europe and the W888 is a GSM-only variant headed to China.

when is 3G?

SE is my favorite phone line the past few years but I would love to enjoy 3G on my handset. My s710a I love but why no UMTS stateside from them?

Oh well.

I love SE too, only phones I really like.

I agree they need to hit the US with a 3g phone or more so a quad-band gsm with tri-band 3g. Other manu's can do it why not you SE?

What's Sony's deal with candybar phones?

It's all they ever make. You never see them make flips, sliders, etc.

Why M2?

I was excited to see the new Walkman phone. Especially since it has stereo bluetooth. I have the W810 and it's the only thing missing.

Buy why the M2 memory format? It's not nearly as as large as Memory Stick Duo. The MSD is much easier to handle too. M2's are so small.

Although, if it has Walkman 2.0 on it, i may have to consider upgrading from my W810.
I think all SE phones are going m2 when it comes to memory. All the higher end phones at least.

Not saying I like it as I lost my big pro duos when I got my SE W710 but it does seem to be SE's way now.
