Motorola this week confirmed previous rumors and photos of a MOTORAZR maxx for Verizon by making a manual available for download from the company's public web site. The manual confirms many of the features previously seen in pictures as well as revealing a few new aspects. The MOTORAZR maxx Ve is a VCAST EV-DO phone with stereo Bluetooth and MicroSD slot. It features a 2 megapixel autofocus camera with a large flash and a new 2 stage shutter button located where the internal camera would be on the HSDPA version. This allows you to press the button halfway to focus the camera and then all the way to snap the picture, even when the phone is closed. In addition, the manual indicates that this phone will be among the first Motorola handset to feature Windows Media Player 11 and Plays For Sure integration. It also features a totally redesigned music player. This could indicate Verizon is shifting away from its own music service and allowing users to use their own like Cingular is doing. The manual makes no mention of downloading songs over the air.

Hey, Verizon is allowing users...

...to partake of non-proprietary music services?

The sky is falling.

The sky is falling.

Next the Bluetooth will open up on the Motorolas, like on the newest LG phones.

This makes sence

This makes sense because the music essentials cd works with media player. I bet this is some of the new changes that the new ceo is working on; loosing the preverbial nuce around the customers neck. More good things to come. Wait till the push to talk over wifi comes out!!!
yep you right this make alot sense the new ceo have a whole new different plan and aT the end of the day verizon its the best . i phone ZZZZZZZZ remenber ppl its only one phone and LG ITS COMING OUT WITH FIRE THIS YEAR WOOOOOW 😛 APPLE ZZZZZZ ...

It'll have VCast Music. They're not going to spend millions of dollars to build that program up, only to drop it after a short time. You already can put your own songs on there even without the music essentials kit. These changes, plus some other ones...

WAIT!

If you want some advice on what to do, then read my subject line again. If you want to learn something about the wireless equipment business, then pay attention.. You will never have the latest and greatest device! Buy a phone that will do what you plan in using it for! A 2 mega-pixel camera on a phone is only great if you plan on developing the pictures in large print sizes. Also, never buy a phone when it first comes out. WAIT for at least 3-5 months for the bugs to be worked out, or you'll be sorry that you bought it. Plus, the price generally falls after about that time, so save some time and money. If you plan on getting a phone from VZW now, then buy LG. Motorola has too many problems with thier phones. I have used them all, and LG h...

In the future you should reconsider giving out your so called advice. For starters there is know need to wait for a phone to be out 3-5 months 🙄 thats what software updates are for. Second you can't just say BUY LG 🙄 because moto suck< that ...

when is this coming out???

When is the new razr coming out for Verizon? I have a dilemna that I cannot chose between the 8600 by LG, the krzr k1m white, and the rzr v3m. If this is coming out soon, I'll wait!!!! PLEAWE let me know asap!!!
Why would you bother considering the V3m when you know the replacement is on it's way out? Also...the krzr isn't even worth considering unless it's for someone in the age range of 12-15. The screen is terrible and the features just suck. The 8600 is a...

Release Date!????? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOMEONE PLease help!

I just saw this phone and am wondering when Verizon is going to get it. The sales rep in Verizon told me that there was a new razr coming out but he did not know when (yeah sure he didn't!).

ANYONE KNOW when it's due to hit Verizon stores?
You may see it March/April I think Cingular is due to get it first and they are getting it in March.I give up on these phone release date.Verizon never hits the dates anyway.

You know, I have read plenty of statements where the words "the guy at the Verizon store told me..." ~ You should never trust the "in-store" reps on when equipment is coming out. Because they DON'T KNOW! There are things that are called Statements of ...

Two stage v. Auto focus?

What is the difference?
Not so much a difference as an "added option". Just like on a camera where you can hold the button down a bit to focus and then snap the picture, you can do that on the MAXX as well, or you can just snap the picture and the picture will be auto-focuse...

Flash the UI

Would I be able to flash the UI on my LG VX8300 to this Motorola's version? WMP11 and PlaysForSure integration sound like very nice features I'd love to take advantage of.
That is almost definitly gonna be no. A Software flash is not designed to entirely change your UI and add more features, it is to fix an issue with the software.

UI

Will this have the vzw standard UI or moto UI, since it is going to have WMP 11??

Also, I'm first poster, woot
VZW standard UI, of course.
I'm sure its going to be Verizon Standard UI - maybe Flashable kind...
It will have VZWs UI in it and almost definitly the Flash UI. But, if you haven't noticed, everytime they come out with new phones they are advancing the UI and trying to make it more customer friendly.

VZW Music

i'm quite sure verizon will keep their over the air music store. as of right now you can take your own music to your phone for free, or you can purchase music OTA. and they don't restrict the songs either like itunes, nor do they use some stupid format that no one else uses.
