Cingular and Citibank are starting a mobile payment trial in New York City. Citibank Mastercard users will be offered a Nokia phone with an NFC chip tied directly to their account. They will be able to pay for McDonalds, movies and even subway fare using the handset. Cingular, Nokia, and Motorola have previously run trials in south Florida, Atlanta and most recently, Dallas. There the trials included 7 Eleven stores and prepaid subscribers. Despite the number of trials, no US carriers have committed to launching contactless payment on their phones.

Just another way....

For customers to try to say they didn't "Authorize" these charges on their bill. 🙄

Of course you didn't authorize it, you gave it to someone else to use, and they authorized it for you! 🤣
