Nokia will launch an updated version of the N80 in mid-September. The N80i includes a number of new internet-focused applications, but features the exact same hardware as the original wrapped in a slightly different color scheme. The N80i includes software from Nokia's tie-up with Yahoo! including the integrated Flickr upload in the camera and gallery applications and Yahoo! Go for Mobile. It also includes a mobile search application and an Amazon branded ebook reader. Finally the N80i includes two applications to make getting connected easier. A new Wi-Fi wizard will further ease the process of connecting to wireless LANs, and a new SIP framework makes it easier to use VOIP applications like Gizmo project on the handset.

My Nokia N80

My N80 phone some times really drives me nutts it hangs up while surfing internet leaving no other way than to restart, i think its not a GPRS problem because when I am synchronizing it with www.zyb.com it works fine.
Mine seems to work perfectly.

Have you reported it to the retailer?

worth the wait?

is the software update worth the wait? and with all the other features..what difference does it make if the N80 operates on the cingular 3G?

A2DP??

This would have been the show stopper for the N80. So sad they took it away at the last minute, I had high hopes that this update would add it back.

Ultimate "connection" facilitator...

... would be the addition of WCDMA 1900 instead of the current WCDMA 2100. Hello Nokia are you listening?!?! 🙂
you would think they would be. it will not matter whether cingular or tmobile carry the phone. the number of unlocked buyers will probably force the carriers to provide better support.
Amen! a little HSDPA flava wouldn't hurt either 🙄

Gotta say i was set to buy this phone until the US 3g version got canned.

guess i'll have to wait for the N83 (praying for HSDPA 850/1900)
