Mobile ESPN Plays College Football

Mobile ESPN announced it will stream full video of select college football games to subscribers throughout this season. The broadcasts of up to 25 games per month will start with the Florida State v. Miami game on September 4. ESPN has the rights to broadcast games from several popular conferences such as the Atlantic Coast, Big East and Big Ten. The stream will only be available to subscribers with the Total Sports package, which costs an additional $25 per month, and provides access to additional video and ESPN content on top of what basic plans provide. Other services such Amp'd and Sprint have broadcast sporting events on their networks as well.

I'm all about new cool stuff...

I understand it is a huge ARPU booster and it is very profitable and I envy any sprint sales associate who has a customer want this data feature. (money in the pocket). But why??? I know sports nuts would like it, but it's just way too much. I am a nerd and want my phone to do everything, but now we are starting to teter totter into excess with cellphones. But kudos to Sprint for filling a .05% niche of customers who would purchase this package... 🙄
