Cingular's CTO, Kris Rinne, yesterday revealed that the carrier is looking at other options to deliver video to its subscribers. The carrier is considering parterning with broadcast services such as MediaFLO or Modeo to offer additional video using their terrestrial networks. They are also reportedly in talks with a new satellite video provider, who Rinne stated was not Dish or DirecTV. Sirius has previously said it intends to deliver mobile video over satellite but other players could be entering the market. Cingular is also considering PC software that would allow customers to move their own videos from their PCs to their phones. Many high end phones and smartphones sold on Cingular already allow customers to do this.
