The first Blackberry with 3G data connectivity and a full QWERTY keyboard will soon launch on Vodafone in the UK. The 8707v is identical to the 8700 in size, shape and specifications; the only difference is that it adds UMTS (2100 MHz) connectivity to the previous model. In addition to Blackberry features like email sync and a QWERTY keyboard, the 8700 and 8707 feature 64 MB RAM and Bluetooth 2.0 (including a DUN profile). Though the 8707v is bound for Vodafone in Europe, RIM typically will produce additional models for other carriers and bands, however the company has not made any official statements regarding this model or any other versions of it. The only 3G Blackberry available in the US is the EV-DO 7130e, which has many similar features but has a hybrid keyboard.

Can't wait!

I would think Cingular would be first out of the gate with a US compatible model. Now the question is what will hit the US carriers first---an EVDO 8700 on Verizon, an EDGE 7130 on Cingular, or this hot number?
The MDA will be tough competition.
I agree, I am very excited to see this piece of tech on Cingular/T-Mobile. This is what BB needed to become a the best smart phone on the market, no maybe Wi-Fi!

3rd 3g blackberry....

When it was launched the Verizon BB 7250 had EVDO built in, but not enabled (mostly so you couldn't tether it to your PC as a modem. Recently the new software version (version 4 i believe) enables the EVDO. So technically there are currently 2 3G blackberries (both with Verizon I might add), so this would be, technically, the third.
Good call, urnamehere. I was thinking the same thing. Verizon supposedly enabled EVDO for the 7250 some time back. In fact, I think the headline is just incorrect. The 7250 has a "full QWERTY keyboard" and has been around for a year. Besides, EVD...

Theme

Will we be able to get that Theme? I love my Cingular 8700c, but I would love it even more with that cool Vodafone theme. My 7100g had the Vodafone theme it was by far my favorite. Hope this comes.
