facial biometric security?!

I looked it up and it looks like the technology can recognize faces, mainly meant for homeland security. Why do you think they included it on a phone? I would guess the phone is going to have different customized settings that ce be changed automatically after the phone "looks at you" and recognizes you? that's all i can think of but it sound weird... especially since most cell phones have 1 user i think. maybe its for another purpose, but what???
Maybe it's just plain personal security. If the phone doesn't recognize your face, it won't let you make calls or look up info in the phonebook, etc.

It's the same reason a lot of Japanese and Korean phones have fingerprint scanners - to prevent unauthorized use of you digital wallet.

This phone - like ones with fingerprint scanners - has an NFC chip that lets the phone act like a digital wallet...

Amazing screens...

Has anyone had the privilege of using any of Sharp's laptops? Simply the best screens around...

USA?

With all the US phones Americans salivate over; the fact that phones like this Sharp exist put us all to shame. We are at the very least 3-5 years behind "NEW" technologies. 😢 Another great reason to move to Europe I guess!! 😛
almost all these phones come to japan first. sadly, vodafone kk, the service this model is destined for is the least popular and most technologically behind of the 3 major carriers there.
