Bell Canada has posted an image and specs of the first EV-DO Blackberry on their business to business site. The 7130e is the first phone-style CDMA Blackberry, and their first to have EV-DO as well. The 7300e has a slightly different formfactor but it features the same condensed keypad, predictive text and Bluetooth as Blackberry phones in the 7100 series. It also shares the same bright 240x260 screen as the new models for Nextel and T-Mobile. No pricing or launch date is available from Bell or RIM yet.

First EV-DO... Kinda...

Just my two cents, but the 7250 currently offered does have EV-DO... its just not enabled.

Not sure when, but we're supposedly going to enable it via software flash at some point, though I've been hearing that since it launched.
Bell mobility is not offering a firmware upgrade for the 72550 so its only 1x

Verizon will be launching the same phone soon too. The 7250 will have a firmware upgrade the same time that the 7100 series gets launched also.

The firmware will be the 4.1 upgrade and that will release the evdo capablilities of the 7250.

I Dont like Suretype. i like Qwerty....

i dont like this type of blackberry coming out..

i like the 8700c and the 7520 styles with the full qwerty instead of the suretype. if someone does a lot of emails, aims, and other things with data, i dont think the suretype blackberrys will be good for you, and i think the full qwerty ones are better. i tried the suretype phone and i didnt like it what-so-ever especially if you compare it to the full qwerty ones.

anyway, i am just stating my opinion.
Help me out, how does Suretype work? Is it similar to iTap or T9?

Not going to be black . . .

😁

Too bad it wont really look like that. It is supposed to be gun-metal silver, similar to the color of the samsung sch-a670, and the new VZW Razr coming out. This will be the color of many new Verizon phones coming out.

You heard it here first!

A Change of pace.

It never fails. People like posting what they don't like about the new stuff on every news piece so i thought i should mix it up a bit.....

Is it really a leak when the phone company posts it on their site?
Is it a leak when you turn a faucet on?

Probably not.

*Form factor

That's the best shape I've seen yet...nearly Nokia-like. Very cool. RIM's come a long way as of late...let's hope some miracle lifts the upcoming ban of Blackberry products in the US.
