Motorola today announced the E895, the first phone to feature the manufacturer's new Java- and Linux-based OS and user interface. The next-generation OS is designed to be more powerful and easier to use than current smartphones. The E895 is a triband GSM clamshell phone with EDGE. It features a 1.3 MP camera with LED flash and video recording, QVGA display, a TransFlash slot, mp3 playback and Bluetooth- including support for stereo audio profile. It also features a full HTML browser and MotoSync Exchange ActiveSync as part of the new OS. The E895 is due out in Q4 2005.
