IS-136

(ANSI-136)

IS-136 is a 2G digital wireless standard based on TDMA technology.

Technically, TDMA is a generic method for sending digital wireless signals. GSM and IS-136 are both based on TDMA technology, but IS-136, being a cumbersome term, is commonly referred to as simply "TDMA".
