we have sambuca which i think is what he is talking about. it's an anise-flavored (licorice) spirit from italy. romana-sambuca being the common version. it is good. it lights well as it burns slow if you want to get fancy with it (as does most white-spirits)

True. It is not a liquor I would like to have a full bottle of though you know. It is one of those special treats. If I bought a whole bottle of it, I think I would lose my taste for it.

-T---Micah-

I never said I was big drinker. In all honesty I am not. I really dont like getting completely hammered anymore. I think I burned myself out in highschool. These days I prefer a couple beers and a fat bowl. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Vox Dei

Jun 13, 2006, 2:07 PM
umm...38% is 76 proof...you don't think that burns?
...
guido1869

Jun 13, 2006, 2:14 PM
no it doesn't, it has to be somewhere around double that
if it is sprayed as a fine mist then lesser drinks will burn
most of the time when a flaming drink is served the bartender puts a thin layer of bicardi 151 or somthing similar on top, that is what is burning
...

Jun 13, 2006, 2:35 PM
๐Ÿ˜ณ 151? Is that stuff even legal? Brandy burns and it's only about 80 proof.
...
guido1869

Jun 13, 2006, 2:38 PM
151 is legal here, everclear is legal to sell in stores here but not to serve in bars, it's 190 proof

never tried it with brandy, can't stand that stuff, you can get brandy at different proofs
...

Jun 13, 2006, 2:47 PM
190 ๐Ÿ˜ณ . Damn you'd go blind with that stuff. why not just whip yourself up a batch of wood moonshine?
...
guido1869

Jun 13, 2006, 2:51 PM
moonshine is not legal and unregulated, you never know what proof your gonna get

i like everclear, set my kitchen on fire with it once
...
Vox Dei

Jun 13, 2006, 2:54 PM
I know. That's my point. 190 proof is almost pure alcohol. It doesn't get much stronger than that.
...
guido1869

Jun 13, 2006, 2:57 PM
yeah but moonshine gets weaker too, you may get 140 or less with moonshine
