Set up a prepaid just to get the phone as mentioned in the last post. But be aware that 911 Will be the only number you can call after that expires.(30 days) You will also lose the phone # and repeated calling for none emergency purposes of 911 will increase the wait time for an operator. I am assuming your in Canada so go to a national carrier for your phone (bell, telus, rogers, fido) I usually just recommend keeping the pay as you go phone active instead of letting it die so that way you can also call CAA or home if something happens instead of 911. (costs about $11.40 a month after tax in Ontario for the minimum minutes) If the 10 bucks a month is to pricey for you then pay $100 for 12 months (savings of $20 thats four starbucks coffees for you or half of your cable bill)
