What's the best & cheapest way to keep in touch while hubby's in Okinawa. We have Sprint but I also have an unlocked Nokia 5100.

Okinawa, like the rest of Japan, is on UMTS. You would need a GSM provider to roam, but NO phones from the USA work there. You can do prepaid thru J-Phone (Vodaphone Japan) and buy an inexpensive UMTS device there.
