I have heard and read some things about after rooting and unlocking a Samsung Galaxy S from Tmobile that says it is not possible to receive 3G from AT&T's network... Can anyone confirm or help me get around this?

no any tmobile phone won't work with at&t's 3g. Tmobiles 3g uses different bands then at&t's 3g.

Correct, I rooted a Samsung Captivate (AT&T) to use it on T-mobile 3g doesn't work only 2g.
